Cultural Education

In January of 2020, À Dyà Zù-Zù began a pilot Cultural Education and Youth Leadership.  While Liberia is made up of unique cultures and a powerful history that has influenced the continent of Africa, these stories, histories, and identities have been overshadowed by the global narrative that focuses on Liberia’s history of war, poverty, corruption, and underdevelopment.  Knowing that the future of this country lies within the next generation of leaders, we deemed it critical to change the narrative that young people are being indoctrinated with about themselves, their people, and their country, by introducing a cultural education that builds knowledge, appreciation, and pride in themselves, their unique cultural identities, and their country; this is the foundation of À Dyà Zù-Zù’s youth development and leadership objectives, which will be achieved through cultural and national education, arts and crafts training, and civic engagement activities.
